Our guide quickly picked me up, and he drove me to the local doctor to have me checked. Next day i felt really sick, and because of the symptoms i thought it might be malaria. The rafting back (tubing) was a lot of fun. Great! Makes it feel less of a zoo and more of a reserve. But we didn't meet any dangerous animals so no feeding. They only feed if it's dangerous to the tourists if they don't (Mina, one of the Orang Utan's can be dangerous if you don't feed her). And best of all: They don't feed the wildlife. And also very strange fruit we never had before. Like my friend said: Best Nasi Goreng he had for the whole trip! Lots of fruit, too much to eat it all. Very inclusive, not just doing a standard walk.įood during the day was incredible. We found the Urang Utan's and they let us decide each time how long we wanted to stay, but kept informing us if staying too long might mean not doing something else. And questions we didn't know we had were also answered. Any questions we had were answered with a lot of detail. Our guides were very friendly and very knowledgable. Our hotel didn't have the shoes in our size, so our guide brought some from the village for us which we could buy for the same price as the hotel. We needed special shoes since we didn't bring walking shoes.

The next day we went out for the jungle trekking (1 day). We payed the rest of the agreed amount and showed us our rooms.

Our welcome was friendly and they explained what we had to do. Very professional, and very calm trip compared to some other taxi's we've taken. After that he went somewhere to eat which was really nice. They brought us to Bukit Lawang, but not before showing us a street vendor that sells pineapple and he bought some for us all to enjoy. We were picked up from the airport by a friendly driver, who is a local to Bukit Lawang. They even drove us directly from Tankahan back to Medan, even though all other companies insist that you first go back to Bukit Lawang first. They were very eager to help us and we found a great iternary that worked for us. We wanted to do both the Orang Utan's as the Elephants with 4 people, but since we didn't have much time we asked if the program could be adapted.
